Building a Mini Roman Catapult
Now that you have made your LEGO village or your Warhammer battleground it just doesn't seem complete without a mini Roman catapult. These are easy to make by yourself and will take you very little time. It's also very inexpensive. A child can do this project but do not leave your child unsupervised because there are small parts he can swallow.
Instructions

Split your nine Popsicle sticks into stacks of three. Tape each end of one stack with electrical tape. Tape one of the other stacks together slightly more inward than the first set. Repeat for the last stack of sticks. Tape the last two stacks of sticks in the same place.
2Place clothespins on the tape on one of the stacks that has the tape a little down from the end. Wrap two of the rubber bands around the clothespins to lock them into place. Doing this will make the ends of the clothespins that don't have Popsicle sticks closed. Open them slightly and put the other stack of sticks inside. Wrap rubber bands around where the sticks meet the clothespins. You should now have a square.
3Turn your square so that the mouths of the clothespins are facing you. Place your last two clothespins on either end of the sticks with the mouths of the clothes pins facing upward. Attach the clothespins onto your square with rubber bands. Put your last stack of Popsicle sticks into the mouths of those clothes pins. Stand the unit up so the square is on your table. When you pull back on the wall that is standing up you should have a spring effect but it doesn't come apart. Place your last two rubber bands on the top part of the clothespin to lock the sticks and the pins together.
4Lift one of the arms of one of your small binder clips up. Tape the end of your plastic spoon onto one of the arms of the clip. Clip the clip onto the bottom side of the Popsicle sticks so the inside of the head of the spoon is facing the wall that is standing upward.
5Clip the last rubber band into another binder clip. Place the clip on the top side of the wall that is standing upward. Put the rubber band around the head of the spoon. Put the rubber band and the top of the shaft of the spoon into the last binder clip. Take the two arms out of the binder clip. Now you can pull the clip back and your spoon will rocket forward.
